10 reasons why you should go on a nature walk with pack goats

t's been on our minds for quite some time, and recently, it became a reality. We purchased the first packing gear for our goats – hooray! Not just any gear, but from a seasoned expert in pack goats: the packgoatguy. We really wanted to have the best gear for our beloved animals, and Marc is well educated and active as packgoat expert.

Over the past couple of years, we've diligently trained our goats, and now, they're finally strong enough for long-distance walks! Say hello to our magnificent pack goats!

Nature, in itself, is incredibly healing, but incorporating pack goats takes our walks to another level. If you're not yet familiar with the term 'pack goats,' it's time to change that because there's something special you're missing out on!

So, why is it a fantastic idea to join a nature walk with goats (and our pony Jo)? Here's our top 10 reasons!"

1. Connection with nature

Exploring nature in itself is already a beautiful experience, but goats add another perspective. They'll explore the mountains and uncover places you haven't seen before. Our goats are highly active and often make amusing noises. Being with goats allows you to immerse yourself in the natural environment, embracing the sights, sounds, and scents of the outdoors at a whole new level.

2. Stress relief

Being in nature and engaging with goats can reduce stress levels and encourage relaxation. The presence of our goats can be therapeutic and calming since they are accustomed to our company. You'll be amazed at how much they adore humans! There's no rush or need to be somewhere on time—it's all about the experience.

3. Mindfulness practise

Taking a walk with the goats helps you stay present and focused. Leave the worries and technology behind, here it's just enjoying amazing nature and playful goats.

4. Build up resilience

We love camping outdoors and welcome everyone to join us. It's a great way to connect with nature and yourself in a special way. Ever thought about cooking breakfast over an open fire, even in winter? Let's grab your hammock, sleeping bag, and go! But if that's too much, no worries—we have plenty of other lovely and unique places to stay on our land."

5. You don't have to carry everything

Okay, it must be admitted here that our goats are still in the learning process so they can't carry too much yet. In fact, they can only carry around 6-8 kg, but he, that's already something to take off your shoulders! Plus, we have our strong Pony Jo to assist. He is able the carry around 60kg! So... what shall we bring for food?

6. Physical exercise

Who needs the gym when you can hike mountains with goats?! It's a serious workout for both you and the goats. Trekking through forests and up mountains is an exercise, and looking after the goats keeps you moving. But hey, take it easy! The goats need to munch on grass too ;)

7. Educational practise

It's an opportunity to discover France's natural surroundings and learn outdoor skills. Having lived off-grid for years, we're familiar with the area and would be thrilled to share bushcraft skills, information about wild edible plants, and insights into the environment

8. Social connection

We keep our hiking groups small, maxing out at 4 people. Picture yourself trekking with fellow nature enthusiasts who share your passion! It's a great chance to bond with like-minded people.

9. Deeper connection

Going on a multi-day hike can really help you connect with yourself. Spending uninterrupted time in nature can be life-changing in many ways. Plus, if you're looking to strengthen bonds with family or kids, it's a perfect chance! It's quality time together while having a unique experience.

10. FUN!

Our goats are absolutely adorable and each has its own unique personality. It's quite amusing, and we're confident you'll get to know them well on the walk. While not all of them join us for long hikes, Billy and Benjamin take the lead—they're confident and quite a gentlemen!
